Fort Campbell Middle School concludes Month of the Military Child spirit week
Fort Campbell Middle School wrapped up a week of activities in April 2026 that celebrated the resilience and contributions of military-connected students during the Month of the Military Child.
The spirit week combined student-centered events, community partnerships and hands-on learning to recognize the unique experiences of military children while encouraging patriotism, civic awareness and future readiness. Activities ran throughout the week and drew participation from students, staff, families and local partners.
The week opened with Boots on the Ground Day, when students and staff wore boots to show support for servicemembers worldwide. College Day followed, with hallways filled with college apparel and conversations focused on long-term goals and post-secondary opportunities.
A highlight was the College & Career Awareness Fair, which brought together more than a dozen representatives from colleges, universities, the military, entrepreneurship and community professions. Students explored fields including pharmacy technology, civil engineering, veterinary medicine, nursing, cosmetology, real estate and more through demonstrations and real-world insights.
Midweek featured Resilience Day, supported by the Ready & Resilient Performance Center. Students took part in structured activities that built teamwork, perseverance and positive peer relationships — foundational skills for both academic achievement and the demands of military life.
Evening events included an Enrichment Showcase with STEM displays and a school-wide talent show that featured musical performances, artistic demonstrations and family-inclusive acts. The week closed with a Lunch on the Lawn with servicemembers and veterans, giving students the chance to share a meal, express appreciation and hear firsthand accounts from those who have served.
The activities reflected DoWEA’s commitment to student excellence, school excellence, talent excellence and organizational excellence while reinforcing the values of service, citizenship and community that define military-connected schools.
