Quick Facts for Parents:
Welcome to school year 2026/2027! Fort Campbell Middle School has approximately 600 students in 5th through 7th grade working with experienced staff, most having master’s degrees. We offer programs in art, music, and physical education. We also offer special education, speech and language, and advanced academic programs and services for our students who qualify. Our school building is divided into nine neighborhoods and includes a large gym, a multi-purpose room, and an information center. All classrooms have access to a variety of technologies including smartboards and Chromebooks. We have an active school improvement program and welcome your participation and suggestions. We look forward to meeting you and working with your children!

Volunteers at Fort Campbell Middle School: Volunteers are encouraged in our school, especially with both PTO and SAC. Our PTO partners make an important difference to our students and educators each day. The FCMS School Advisory Committee (SAC) is a requirement for all DoDEA schools. The SAC advises the principal on items of importance to parents and teachers as well as policies and programs. Check with the main office for the date and time of the next SAC meeting. Details will be shared by your child’s teacher. Visitors / Volunteers must first stop in the main office and sign in for a visitor’s pass.

See-the-Teacher-First policy: The school strongly urges parents to see the teacher first if there is a concern or problem prior to contacting the grade level counselor, then principal. When wishing to conference with a teacher, parents are asked to make arrangements in advance with the teacher. This is best for the school’s educational program and students as it ensures instruction and learning are not interrupted by surprise visits.

Starting School: When registration is completed, the registrar will contact you to make an appointment.

Safety Concerns:

Important: You must notify your child’s teacher in writing if your child will go home a different way than usual. We will only accept changes made over the telephone in an emergency and only after verification of the caller’s identity. If you’re picking up your child at the end of the day, be sure to arrange where you will meet outside the building and make sure you pick your child up promptly.

Early Pick-up: As a security precaution and to ensure the safety of your child, you must sign them out at the main office when you are picking them up while school is in session. Your child will be paged to meet you in the office. Also, be sure to sign your child back in when he/she returns. If your child arrives after 07:25, 5th grade, a parent is required to escort them to the main office and sign them in. 6th and 7th grade Students arriving after 7:25am can sign themselves in. Student safety and security is always the highest priority at Fort Campbell Middle School.

Morning arrival supervision for students who ride the bus begins with the arrival of the first bus. Students who walk or are brought to school should arrive no earlier than 0705 (Mon-Fri). School is dismissed at 1435 for all students (1320 on ERD).

Pick-up and drop-off zone: The designated pick-up/drop-off area for FCMS is located at the front of the school.

Planned absences must be reported no later than the day prior (more time is always better) to the expected absence. School administration will work with parents who have exigent circumstances to support children who may miss school for a valid reason.

For students who are absent due to a contagious illness, parents need to report the illness to the school nurse so that precautions may be taken in the classroom. Medical appointments and other discretionary appointments should be scheduled during non-school times to maximize student learning.

Extra-curricular activities: We offer extra-curricular activities organized at FCMS which meet after school. Examples of these in-person activities may include tutoring club, gaming club, art club, anime club, dance club and others. Information on extra-curricular activities and sign-ups are shared through the monthly parent newsletter.

Student Concerns: If a child has an incident to report, there are several ways this can be done: complete a student incident form in the front office; speak to a teacher, counselor, or admin. All reports are investigated.

Bus concerns: Questions or concerns about school buses are handled through the bus office. You may reach them by phone at (931) 431-6213.

School Meal Program:

You can manage your child’s meal account by going to meal payment portal. Money is added to the account directly at the cafeteria by check or cash, or by debit or credit card at the cafeteria or on the MyPaymentsPlus website. IMPORTANT: Please ensure that you always maintain a positive balance on your child’s meal account. Also, please note that student meal accounts are not charge accounts; therefore, negative account balances are watched very closely. First and second notices will be sent if your child’s account balance drops into negative territory; yet please understand that we are required to notify military command if these reminders go unheeded.

Water is available at no cost for all students. Students who bring their lunch from home may purchase drinks or snacks at the cafeteria.

A free or reduced-price lunch program is offered at FCMS. This is an annual requirement, so even though you may have qualified for the program in the past, you must reapply.

Before and After School Care: The School-Age Program on Fort Campbell provides before and after school childcare. They can be reached at (270) 461-1042 or in person at Ft. Campbell School Age Services.
